Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport officials have welcomed the inaugural
flight of Air Cargo Germany, which began its twice-weekly service to Atlanta.
The first flight arrived a little after 03:30 on Friday October 12 and Atlanta Fire Rescue trucks provided a water-cannon salute to herald the airline’s first departure from Hartsfield-Jackson at about 06:00.
“We are pleased to welcome Air Cargo Germany to Hartsfield-Jackson,” said Aviation
General Manager Louis Miller.
“Air Cargo Germany is working to expand its connections between North America and
Europe, and Hartsfield-Jackson serves as the perfect global gateway to help achieve this goal.”
AirCargo Germany will operate two weekly flights between Hartsfield-Jackson and Germany using the airline’s Boeing 747F aircraft.
The flights will connect cargo with locations in Russia, Central Asia and Africa as
well as throughout Europe by truck.
This is so exciting for us working at the airport, especially myself with a background in cargo logistics. With support from the Mayor and the General manager, I am confident that cargo operations will continue to thrive and put our airport on the map as most competitive both in passenger and cargo operations.
Glad to hear it, Judah! We look forward to seeing what else Atlanta has to offer – you’ve certainly had a busy year so far 🙂
