Atlantic Airways has chosen the package of Thales Avionics equipment and cockpit technologies for installation on its Airbus A319 aircraft. The equipment comprises Alternate Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) and Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFI).
Thales has equipped the carrier’s aircraft with the dual Flight Management System (FMS); the Digital Head Up Displays System (D-HUDS) installed in captain side; the latest integrated ACSS surveillance suite including TCAS, TAWS and Transponder functions, Low-Range Radio-Altimeters (LRRA); Pitot Probes and Angle of Attack sensors; and Kannad’s Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT).
The package will allow Atlantic Airways to perform low Required Navigation Performance (RNP) approaches and landings at its hub, Vàgar Airport, in the Faroe Islands.
Daniel Malka, Vice President and General Manager of Avionics Services Worldwide for Thales, commented: “We are very proud of the sign of faith and recognition Atlantic Airways sent by choosing our entire set of selectable products.”
