Tiger Airways to fly Sydney – Mackay

Sydney Airport and Tiger Airways have announced that the airline will commence a new
service to Mackay on December 17, 2012, flying five times a week from Sydney.

Sydney Airport CEO, Kerrie Mather, said. “Tiger is going from strength to strength as
it continues to grow its route network and starting a service to Mackay just
before the holiday period is great news for travellers,

“With fares starting from $99.95, now everyone can afford to take a break over Christmas.

“Mackay is the gateway to some great tourist destinations like the Whitsundays and the
Great Barrier Reef, but also supports a growing mining sector, so it makes sense to have more direct services from Australia’s largest city.

“Tiger’s resurgence this year has been great for domestic travellers, offering more choice and competition on popular routes.  Tiger set up a base in Sydney earlier this year and we’ve seen strong growth in domestic traffic as a result.”
