Hurricane Sandy Disrupts Flight

Thousands of flights to and from airports on the eastern seaboard of the United States have been cancelled as Hurricane Sandy approaches.

The New York, Baltimore, Newark, Washington DC, Boston and Philadelphia airports account more the most cancellations but due to the international nature of their services thousands of passengers are stranded across the US and overseas.

Weather forecasters say that the Hurricane may develop into a so-called Super Storm which could last for three to four days.

In addition to flight cancellations New York’s entire public transport system has closed
down until it is deemed safe to re-open.

Hurricane Sandy is already reported to have killed 60 people as it tore through the
Caribbean.
