The new facility is part of the Göteborg Landvetter Airport’s plan to create an “all in
one” shopping area, where the duty free store forms a part of the modern streamlined commercial area.
Nuance says its Duty Free Store concept, which it describes as having a, “strong brand
identity, eye-catching category boutiques and innovative interactive technology” – is designed to help customers navigate and identify the key categories, best sellers, new items and special promotions.
As Swedish people are by far the largest visitor segment, the product offer is tailored to meet their needs including many Swedish brands across all categories. In addition to the core categories, the store includes specific sections for sunglasses, bags and home design vendors.
Joakim Hörnfeldt, General Manager of The Nuance Group Sweden commented, “Our objective was to create an engaging store experience with a local touch helping customers
navigate easily throughout the store, and finding the local products and brands that especially Swedish passengers are looking for. I believe our new store delivers that objective very well. The store design is very clear and showcases the local brands and products we offer, it also gives our team the tools to serve better our customers.”
Roel Huinink, Managing Director of the Arlanda Schiphol Development Company, who is also in charge of the development of shops, restaurants and commercial services commented, “Swedavia has a strong focus on increasing the customer satisfaction on the airports.
“When starting the redevelopment of the commercial offer in the international terminal at Göteborg Landvetter Airport we aimed to develop an inspiring airport with attractive commercial offers. We are therefore, pleased to welcome the attractive and modern Duty Free concept of our retail partner The Nuance Group.”
The opening of the new Gothenburg store is also part of the Nuance Group’s significant
refurbishment plan in Sweden. “We will launch the new Arlanda Terminal 4 duty free store at the end of November and further stores in Arlanda, Visby, Umeå, Luleå and Åre Östersund airports during 2012-2013. These developments demonstrate The Nuance Group’s continuous commitment to improve the overall shopping experience across the Swedish airports.” Mr Hörnfeld added.
The Nuance Group already operated retail units at Stockholm Arlanda, Stockholm Bromma, Göteborg Landvetter and Malmö Airports in Sweden.
