First A380 Schedule for Moscow Domodedovo

Moscow Domodedovo airport handled its – and Russia’s – first scheduled Airbus A380 flight, operated by Emriates on December 1. It is now serving the Moscow – Dubai – Moscow route on a daily basis.
The first arrival of the A380 for regular Moscow flights is an important event for Russian civil aviation.  Richard Jewsbury, Senior Vice-President of Emirates in Europe and the Russian Federation arrived at Domodedovo for an official press-conference with Sergey Nedbaylo, Airbus’ Executive Officer in Russia and Igor Borisov, Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport also present.
Mr Borisov commented: “The Airbus A380 took its first flight to Russia in 2009, landing at Moscow Domodedovo airport.  Now three years later, Domodedovo again sets the scene for a significant event in Russia’s civil aviation. It validates Domodedovo’s position among the world’s most modern airports.”
Domodedovo purchased Russia’s first two-level boarding bridge to handle the aircraft, allowing it to dock against three passenger doors (one upper deck and two
lower deck).
With flight times of about five hours the Dubai-Moscow (EK131) departs Dubai at 17:50 and arrives in Moscow at 23:05.  The return EK132 service leaves Moscow at 01:05, arriving in Dubai at 06:20.  Emirates now offer 775 seats per day on the route.
