Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow, Russia, has outsourced its operations for baggage handling in Terminal D to Vanderlande Industries.
For the last two years, Vanderlande has been responsible for maintenance of the baggage handling and screening systems in the terminal, gaining the trust and satisfaction from Sheremetyevo to be awarded the latest contract.
With a growth in baggage numbers of more than 20%, there is a growing need for a better and more efficient baggage handling performance. Now Vanderlande performs both operations and maintenance, the airport is ready to retain its “leading role in Russia”.
Igor Fruslov, Deputy Head of the Operations Department at the airport, said: “We are very satisfied with the professional and efficient way Vanderlande is executing operations already and look forward to the improvements in baggage handling that will be achieved with this synergy.”
