United 787s in the Headlines

Los Angeles International Airport received its first visit from a United Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner at the end of November.  Visiting members of the press were given a rare opportunity to tour the aircraft, see its many high-tech features and meet the crew.
In a completely unrelated event, on December 4 another United 787 flying from Houston to Newark had to make an emergency landing at New Orleans after developing technical problems.  The aircraft, operating flight 1146 landed safely and without incident, with 174 passengers and ten crew members aboard.
Three 787s are currently in service with United.
