French-inspired Le Sommelier Bar & Bistro opened today (December 18) at Copenhagen Airport, Denmark.
The restaurant offers French bistro food and a 118ft- (36m) long bar. A simpler version of its like-named sister restaurant in downtown Copenhagen, the bistro offers a menu composed by gourmet chef Francis Cardenau.
The restaurant serves light French dishes including a charcuterie plate using sausages from France, Spain and Italy. Shellfish and oysters are also available, as well as a rotisserie which allows the restaurant to serve grilled chicken. Younger passengers will be able to enjoy a meal from a children’s menu.
Food and beverage company SSP, which has worked in partnership with Copenhagen Airport for more than three decades – runs the majority of restaurants at the airport and is in charge of the operation of Le Sommelier.
Henrik Anderson, Managing Director of SSP, commented: “[The restaurant] is an obvious addition to the food and beverage offer in the airport, as the bistro concept covers a variety of needs. It appeals to businessmen as well as families with children and is relevant 24 hours a day – whether the need is a breakfast ‘to go’, a business lunch, a glass of wine in the bar or a good evening meal.”
