East Midlands Airport: Runway Open After Temporary Closure

The runway at East Midlands Airport, UK, has reopened after a Spitfire suffered an undercarriage collapse while landing during the late afternoon of January 7.
Thankfully its pilot was not seriously injured but the runway was closed for around three hours while debris was cleared away.
Flights to East Midlands Airport were temporarily diverted to Birmingham but the airport’s operations have now returned to normal.
