Aberdeen Airport has launched a new version of its name, Aberdeen International Airport, in what it calls “the start of a new direction”.
The company’s new registered name is accompanied by a fresh colour scheme, which is being implemented across the airport over the coming months.
Derek Provan, MD, commented: “This is an exciting time for the airport and for our customers. This launch sends a strong message to our passengers and the wider community of our intentions to continue to grow Aberdeen as an international airport.
“We have been successful in recent years in introducing new international routes to Aberdeen and will continue to strive to do so. This launch signals our intentions in a bold public manner.”
The name change was decided after parent company BAA dropped its name in autumn 2012, allowing its airports to operate more individually.
