Frankfurt’s New Information Kiosks Read Boarding Passes

Thanks to new information kiosks, passengers at Frankfurt Airport, Germany, now find it easier to find their way to their gates.
Linked to the airport’s central information system, the kiosks display data on flights, including any changes to departure times and gates.
The touch-screen kiosks were designed by owner Fraport and delivered by Polygon GmbH.  Each is equipped with a barcode scanner, which reads boarding passes to calculate the fastest route to the appropriate departure gate.
The display also slides up or down to suit users of any height.  Fraport plans to install about 90 of the units in both of its terminals to help people get their bearings.
The information kiosks are part of the “Great to have you here!” service programme.
