Transport Canada Approves L-3 Equipment

L-3 Security & Detection Systems (SDS) announced today that three of its air cargo systems have been added to the Transport Canada Air Cargo Security Qualified Equipment & Services List, meaning that the company’s PX 10.10-MX, PX 15.17-MV 200 and ACX 6.4-MV dual-view systems can now be used throughout the country.
Thomas M Ripp, President of L-3 SDS, commented:  “With these latest additions, our Transport Canada-approved air cargo portfolio now includes dual-view offerings with a range of tunnel sizes.  These solutions provide customers with the flexibility to quickly screen break-bulk freight and consolidated air cargo, even in densely packed skids.”
The PX 10.10-MV has a low belt height for screening non-palletised freight for minimum manual handling issues.  Its modular architecture has segments that can be moved and reconnected easily, meaning that the system can be deployed in smaller areas.
The PX 15.17-MV offers a 200kV power configuration for denser goods and organic materials, and – according to the company – “achieves best-in-class penetration while reducing the need to unpack contents for inspection”.
The ACX 6.4-MV includes multi-view screening technology that captures data from one of two views of an object, providing operations with any two images.  Its automated alerts detect threats more accurately, reduce false alarms and achieve rapid throughput.
