Copenhagen Growth

A new growth committee for Copenhagen Airport, Denmark, has been chosen to identify ideas and initiatives to ensure continuing growth in the number of routes and improvement of international accessibility.
The preliminary action plan includes topics such as an opening of the large neighbouring Russian market for more airline services to Denmark; new initiatives to attract more inbound travellers; further development of the cargo hub and the potential for an airport city.
Chief Executive Officer of CPH City & Port Development, Jens Kramer Mikkelsen, commented:  “The entire Copenhagen region has seen fantastic development in recent years and it has the potential for continued growth.  But we need to build more than just new city districts.  We need to generate growth and attract tourists, highly qualified labour and investments.”
In addition to industrial bodies such as the Danish Metalworkers’ Union and the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen and other politicians, committee members include Professor Carl-Johan Dalgaard of the local university and management representatives from a number of companies including MAN Diesel, PensionDanmark and Microsoft.
