Virgin Atlantic has announced that its new domestic operation serving London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Edinburgh will be named Little Red. Virgin acquired the
necessary Heathrow runway slots as part of the deal that enabled IAG to take
over the loss-making carrier bmi.
The Heathrow services will operate from Terminal 1 with flights to and from Manchester starting on March 31, Edinburgh on April 5 and Aberdeen on April 9.
Virgin Atlantic founder and Chairman, Sir Richard Branson, says the new domestic services will provide direct competition to British Airways’ flights.
Sir Richard said that Little Red will “go head-to-head with BA to provide domestic flights that deliver Virgin Atlantic’s rock and roll spirit as well as real value for money.”
