A new direct Hamburg-Edinburgh route was launched by easyJet on March 21.
The British low-cost carrier operates four weekly flights from Hamburg to the Scottish capital. Flights, operated by an easyJet Airbus A319, operate on a four-times weekly basis.
Departures from Hamburg Airport take place at 16:35 every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, landing in Edinburgh at 17:30.
One way Hamburg-Edinburgh ticket price starts below €100.
Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport commented: “We very much welcome
easyJet’s commitment to the Hamburg – Edinburgh route. There is strong demand for this service, linking these two cities, in both the Hamburg and the Scottish market. It is an outstanding complement to our existing route network to the United Kingdom. For Hamburg Airport, Edinburgh is our fifth destination in the United Kingdom, joining London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol. We are sure that the service will be well received.”
easyJet has been flying from Hamburg Airport since 2005. Until now, the airline has had four routes from Hamburg: Gatwick, Luton, Manchester and Basel. Edinburgh is the fifth destination. The sixth easyJet route, Rome, will start on March 29.
