The new Terminal 2 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport was inaugurated on April 23. The facility has been expanded by more than 21,528sq ft (2,000m2) and offers a wide range of food, beverage and shopping options.
A new baggage sorting facility will be operational by 2015, bringing operator Swedavia’s total investment for the development to 400 million Swedish kronor (US$60.4m).
The airport’s director, Kjell-Åke Westin, commented: “The new Terminal 2 has all the potential to be a favourite for many passengers. It takes no more than 15 minutes to get from the train, bus or car to the gate. Along with this smooth flow, passengers will get the feeling of being at a cosy little airport contained in a big one.”
There is a brand new lounge on the upper level, as well as a brasserie and a restaurant. Shopping options now include Capi The Travellers Electronics Company, World of Toys, New Deli with Swedish specialities and a large duty-free store.
