Delta Air Lines is adding a new daily non-stop service to London Heathrow from Seattle Tacoma International Airport. The new route will commence on March 29, 2014.
Tom Albro, Port of Seattle Commission President, commented: “These international connections promote tourism and grow exports to generate good jobs throughout the Pacific Northwest. Delta is building Seattle as its premiere West Coast gateway. This new London flight underscores Sea-Tac’s status as the the fastest-growing intercontinental airport on the West Coast.”
Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s Executive VP Marketing, Network Planning and Revenue Management, added: “Our international expansion in Seattle is possible because of our partnerships with Alaska Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Air France-KLM. Together the airlines can provide customers in the Pacific Northwest with an unmatched global network and an industry-leading customer experience on the ground and in the air.”
Including Delta’s new route, 12 intercontinental services have been added at the airport since 2007, including: Paris; Frankfurt; Beijing; Reykjavik; Osaka; Shanghai; Tokyo-Haneda; and Dubai.
Delta will operate Seattle-London Heathrow using a 210-seat Boeing 767-300ER featuring 35 full flat-bed seats in Business Elite, 32 in Economy Comfort and 143 Economy class seats. Flight 37 will depart SEA at 18:40, arriving at LHR at 12:05 the following day. Flight 36 will depart LHR at 12:20 and arrive at SEA the same day at 14:40.
By next summer, Delta will operate more than 47 daily flights to 15 destinations worldwide from Seattle.
