Göteborg Landvetter Launches Print on Demand Kiosks

Print on demand kioskGöteborg Landvetter Airport  in Sweden is now the first airport in the world to offer passengers the opportunity to purchase “print-on-demand” reading material for their trip.
At the automated newsstand kiosk Meganews Magazines, customers can choose from over 100 periodicals to print while paying the same price as in a regular shop using their credit card.  The magazine is then printed, with the purchase taking less than two minutes.  The airport says this is a: “climate-smart solution” since no unwanted magazines need to be printed or transported.
Roel Huinink, Managing Director of Arlanda Schiphol Development Company AB, responsible for retail, food and beverage at Göteborg Landvetter Airport commented: We’re very pleased to be the first airport in the world to launch the sustainable and innovative Meganews Magazines.  Swedavia is an international role model when it comes to developing climate-smart airports so this is a good fit for our airport. We aim to give our travellers an inspiring shopping experience by bringing innovative and exciting concepts that will make their time at our airports well spent.”
Meganews Magazines is located by Gate 12 in the international departure hall at Göteborg Landvetter until February 28, 2014.
