First Olympic Cargo Delivered to Sochi Airport

SOCHI RussiaOn November 7 AirBridgeCargo delivered the first 30 tonnes of Olympic cargo from Moscow to Sochi International Airport on Thursday in a Boeing 747-8F.
The Olympic cargo consisting of 12 pallets with bobs, eight pallets with photo, video equipment and special tools for cargo transportation was dispatched to Sochi International Airport, one of the Russian gateways, capable of accepting Boeing 747-8 Freighter.
The cargo was unloaded from the aircraft into seven Eurofura cargo vans.  A mobile cargo-container screener capable of checking of the cargo on-the-go was used at customs.
Previously, similar freighters were had only operated to Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk airports.  AirBridgeCargo says it is planning to extend its cargo deliveries for the Sochi Olympics until the end of February 2014.
