First Air Takes Delivery of ‘Combi’ Airliners

First Air B737 400 Greg DavidsonCanada’s First Air has taken delivery of two newly-converted Boeing 737-400 ‘combi’ aircraft.

Seen in First Air’s hanger at Ottawa International Airport (IATA: YOW), C-FFNE was delivered from PEMCO in Tampa on the evening of January 29.  Both ‘November Echo’ and its sister-ship ‘November-Foxtrot’ have a four-pallet and 72-seat configuration.

‘November Foxtrot’, (in the foreground) carrying its howling Canadian Eskimo dog (or Qimmiq in the Inuktitut language) livery, is scheduled to enter service today (January 31) while November Echo looks set to begin flights in Early February.
