Royal Brunei Airlines, the flag carrier of Brunei Darussalam, has today placed a firm order for seven Airbus A320neo aircraft valued at US$720 million under the latest phase of its fleet modernisation programme. Delivery of the new two class premium layout A320 fleet will begin in 2016 and will be operated on the airline’s regional network linking Bandar Seri Begawan with destinations across Asia.
“Today’s order follows a thorough evaluation of aircraft available in the single aisle market,” said Dermot Mannion, Deputy Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines. “For 37 years we have provided an award winning service, based on timeless values and authentic Bruneian grace. The A320 Family has been successful in helping us deliver this service and the latest versions of the aircraft will bring even greater levels of efficiency, with 15% less fuel and a significantly reduced impact on the environment. At the same time, the new aircraft will offer unmatched levels of in-flight comfort, longer flying range and significant underfloor cargo capability.”
