Heathrow Airport Hosts Qatar’s “Quiet” Airbus A350

As part of its route proving trials Qatar Airways brought its first Airbus A350 XWB aircraft to Heathrow on January 10th.
The aircraft performed a demonstration flight on January 12 to jointly highlights its promote its qualities. Heathrow is keen to highlight its environmental credentials and developments and improvements on functionalities on the A350 XWB will allow it to operate up to 21 decibels below the regulatory standards for aircraft of its kind, as well as reducing its carbon emissions.
As part of its push to win approval to build a third runway Heathrow says new, quieter aircraft such as the A350 XWB will help to ensure fewer local residents are affected by noise from Heathrow. The airport’s fleet mix is made up of over 18% more Chapter 4 aircraft, the quietest and newest aircraft, than the global fleet average.
