Head of Airports Commission to be RBS Chairman

The head of the UK’s Airports Commission, Sir Howard Davies, has been confirmed as the next Chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Sir Howard will complete his work with the Airports Commission before taking up his new role on September 1.
The Commission is due to deliver its recommendations for expanded airport capacity in the southeast of England “this summer” after the country’s May general election.
Sir Howard’s previous posts include being Chairman of the Financial Services Authority, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry and CEO of the Audit Commission.
