Prague Airport Enhances Border Control Facilities

secunet_eGate_seitlichThe Czech border police has expanding the EasyGO project at Prague’s Václav Havel airport by adding an additional ten eGates. After implementing the first automated border control gates at the end of 2011, secunet has won the follow-on order in conjunction with the Czech partner Vitkovice IT Solutions (VITSOL).
Six additional eGates were introduced on July 15, with the remaining four entering service on July 20.
The provider, secunet, is also supplying the associated infrastructure and the ongoing operational maintenance for the next few years.
Petr Malovec, Head of the National Border Situation Centre at the Czech Border Police commented: “By choosing the solution from VITSOL/secunet we will continue using a tried and tested system, allowing us to offer our international guests state-of-the-art technology and a high level of security. “We are happy to base our systems on the German EasyPASS border control system, which has proven its worth with four million passenger crossings up to July 2015.”
