Aviation intelligence provider, OAG, has issued its performance statistics for 2015.
Bristol Airport (IATA: BRS) has been named the best performing UK airport for the second year running in a league table measuring punctuality of flights across the globe. With an on-time performance rating of 88.64%, Bristol ranked sixth in the European, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) region and tenth overall in the world.
OAG based its league tables on 50 million flight records across 900 airlines and 4,000 airports worldwide. The report covers the 2015 calendar year and is based on the proportion of flights arriving and departing within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
John Grant, Senior Analyst at OAG, commented: “Huge congratulations to Bristol Airport for achieving the ‘Best UK Airport’ in OAG’s Punctuality League 2015. With 88.64% of flights being on-time, it’s a great result for the regional airport.”
