British Airways will fly from Stansted for the first time this May.
Once per week flights to Ibiza, Malaga, Palma (Saturdays) and Faro (Sundays) will operate on summer weekends from May 28.
The flights, will be carried out using 98-seat Embraer 190 aircraft operated by the airline’s subsidiary BA City Flyer. These aircraft operate a number of routes from London City on weekdays but the airport’s opening hours are restricted on weekends.
Stansted’s Managing Director, Andrew Harrison, commented: “I am delighted to welcome British Airways to Stansted and very much look forward to the launch of its first ever scheduled flights from the airport in May this year.
“We look forward to working closely with British Airways to build a strong working relationship and ensure these new flights are a huge success.”
BA’s Stansted – Ibiza flights depart at 0645, arriving at 1015. The return leaves at 1100 and arrives at Stansted at 1230.
The Malaga service leaves Stansted at 1315 and arrives in Spain at 1715. It leaves Malaga at 18.00 reaching Stansted at 1950.
Stansted to Palma departs at 2045 on Saturday to arrive in Majorca at 0015 on Sunday. The return service departs at 0100 and arrives at Stansted at 0230.
The Faro flight leaves Stansted at 0540 on Sunday and arrives at 0830. The inbound service departs Faro at 0905 and arrives at 12.00.
