Dubai International Reopens After Emirates Boeing 777 Crash-lands

Dubai International Airport
August 3: Dubai International Airport (IATA: DXB) has reopened after an inbound Emirates Boeing 777 crash-landed there this morning.
The Dubai Government Media Office says all 300 passengers and crew on board Flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram were evacuated safely but a firefighter was killed while attending the accident.
The aircraft made a wheels-up landing while attempting a go-around and, after the passengers and crew had evacuated, the airframe was consumed by fire.
The airport’s management company, Dubai Airports, says that flight operations have now recommenced “with larger aircraft being given priority.”
