Stuttgart Airport will illustrate its environmentally friendly efforts by exhibiting a new lithium-ion battery powered baggage tug at the Hannover Messe from April 24 to 28.
Stuttgart Airport has a long-established procurement programme designed to electrify its fleet of ground handling vehicles. By the end of 2017 it aims to have all its ramp passenger and baggage transport run by almost silent and zero-emission drive vehicles.
The airport says its electronic fleet will be expanded by 40 ground handling vehicles such as passenger busses, baggage and cargo tugs, conveyor belts and pushback vehicles within the next three years.
The Stuttgart Airport booth at Hannover Messe 2017 is part of the Baden-Württemberg Joint Stand (H71), located in the MobiliTec Area (exhibition hall 27).
