Cathay Pacific has confirmed that the crew on board one of its aircraft reported a suspected sighting of last week’s North Korean missile test. The crew involved was flying an Airbus A350 from San Francisco to Hong Kong on November 29, the day North Korea tested a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile.
The missile fell into Japanese waters and the airline has said its crew witnessed “what is suspected to be the re-entry” of the missile into the earth’s atmosphere.
The missile’s launch was reportedly also witnessed by two South Korean airliners flying to Seoul from the US.
