Kelowna International Airport (IATA: YLW) in British Columbia, Canada, has handled one of the largest aircraft in its history.  On May 18 a Boeing 747SP (Special Performance), registered VP-BAT arrived on delivery to KF Aerospace – a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility located at the airport – before being stored on the airfield.

This particular airframe was previously flown by Pan American World Airways and United Airlines before finding a new lease of live as a VIP aircraft for the ruling family of Qatar.

The aircraft is now awaiting a new owner.
