Stuttgart Airport (IATA: STR) has completed its airside passenger bus replacement programme and now operates an all-electric fleet. The airport’s first battery powered bus was delivered in 2013, and Stuttgart has undertaken a steady transformation towards electric vehicles ever since. Sixteen battery powered eCobus vehicles are now in service, thereby accomplishing a zero-emission passenger shuttle between the terminal buildings and aircraft. The sustainability project which put the airport’s plan into effect, is called Scale Up! and funded by the German Federal Environment Ministry.
