All commercial flights in and out of Belgium have been cancelled from 2200 last night (Tuesday February 12th) to 2200 local time this evening, (Wednesday, February 13), due to strike action. A national strike was called by three of the country’s major trade unions over a pay dispute and the Belgian air traffic services provider, Skeyes, said there was: “no certainty about the number of staff [who would attend work] in a limited number of key posts.” Cancelling all flights was the only safe option.

Several airlines were able to cancel or rescheduled flights in advance of the strike action. Flight operations are expected to resume from 2200 local time this evening.
