Kuwait International Airport has opted for a tote-based baggage handling system for its new Terminal 2 airport project. The new passenger building will have the capacity to handle 25 million passengers per year and accommodate all aircraft types through 51 gates and stands.
The new baggage system will be specifically designed to meet the various demands of the new hub such as fast transfer times. It will incorporate an in-tote hold baggage screening (HBS) and an 1,800-position early baggage storage (EBS) CrisStore function. The new Terminal 2 is due to open in 2022.
