IdentoGO, an official partner of the US Transportation Security Administration, will be onsite at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport this month to help travellers register for the TSA PreCheck program. PreCheck is an expedited security screening programme that allows members to keep on light jackets, shoes and belts during the airport security process, as well as to keep their laptops and compliant liquids in their bag.
For one week only, IdentoGO’s mobile enrollment RV will be in front of the old terminal May 13 – 17. There will be several appointment opportunities for travelers to apply:
- May 13 – 16, 9am – 5pm (Closed 12 – 1pm)
- May 17, 9am – 12pm
To enroll, attendees must bring a government-issued photo ID with proof of US Citizenship (i.e. a passport or birth certificate — names on documents must match exactly) and complete a 10-minute fingerprinting process.
For more information, or to book an appointment, visit universalenroll.dhs.gov and select San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport as your location. Please note that while walk-ins are accepted, participants who do not make an appointment should be prepared to wait an hour or longer. For all registrants, standard airport parking rates apply.
TSA PreCheck memberships are valid at airports across the country. While the San Luis Obispo Airport doesn’t currently have a separate PreCheck lane, it does make accommodations for PreCheck passengers by permitting them to keep on coats, shoes and belts during the checkpoint process. The airport says that thousands of San Luis Obispo County residents have already become members through previous mobile PreCheck events.
