Munich’s Long-haul Network Expands

Munich Airport has released figures showing a 10.5% increase in passenger numbers from January to April 2019.

This summer 22 airlines will offer 342 departures per week to 41 intercontinental destinations in 22 countries and several new routes will be launched in June.

After the rollout of its new service to Charlotte, North Carolina, at the end of March, American Airlines will provide a connection between Munich and Dallas / Fort Worth (DFW), Texas, starting on June 7, 2019.

Chicago (ORD) will be served by three daily flights from the beginning of June, with two daily departures by Lufthansa and one by United Airlines.

Both Lufthansa and Thai Airways will be operating daily flights to the Thai capital of Bangkok (BKK) as of June 3, 2019. Also starting in June, passengers can choose between two daily departures to Singapore (SIN), either with Lufthansa or Singapore Airlines. In addition, Saudia is adding new flights to Jeddah, and will depart from Munich for both Jeddah (JED) and Riyadh (RUH), the Saudi capital, three times per week.
