Nice Côte d’Azur airport (IATA: NCE) has announced it has commissioned its collaborative decision making (CDM) system in connection with the Network Manager – Eurocontrol.

Following an implementation and testing period that lasted for several months, the system went live on a permanent basis at 14:36 on Monday November 25, with the take-off of an Emirates A380 as its first practical application. The airport said that this step should allow it to actively contribute to improving the fluidity and coordination of air traffic in Europe, and gain its accreditation from Eurocontrol within the next few months.

Dominique Thillaud, chairman of the board of directors at Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur commented: “The commissioning of our CDM represents a major landmark step with the movements and operations of our platform being integrated even more efficiently into their wider environment. It is a competitive advantage for our partners, airlines and ground crews, who will gain operational efficiency, and the promise of better service quality for our passengers. Our CDM will also help significantly reduce the time aircraft spend taxiing and their greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to our voluntary policy to reduce our carbon footprint.”
