Swissport and Lufthansa have signed a 5-year contract for cargo handling at Brussels and Liège airports. The deal covers Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines and includes warehousing and cargo ramp transport of mail, pharmaceuticals, valuables and general cargo for the three carriers. The contract is valid until the end of 2024.
Swissport said the renewed agreement will result in a substantial increase in tonnage handled at its cargo facility at Brussels airport, where it is currently completing a major expansion. The partners said they will endeavour to further jointly drive digitisation to realize cost and process improvement.
Rudolf Steiner, Swissport’s senior vice president cargo for EMEA commented: “We are pleased to anchor the cargo handling business for Lufthansa Cargo at Brussels Airport and look forward to further growing our cooperation across our global network.”
