Following the bankruptcy of Swissport Belgium in June, Brussels Airport (IATA: BRU) is seeking a new company to provide baggage handling services.

The French company, Alyzia, stepped in to fill the void left by Swissport’s collapse having been granted a six-month contract to work alongside Aviapartner.

However, the airport has announced that it wants to sign a more permanent contract and is inviting companies to bid for a licence that will run from January 21, 2021 through until October 27, 2025.

The new tender process offers two potential assignments and could lead to two separate companies being contracted to deliver Swissport’s previous work.

Alyzia has announced that it will bid for the permanent licence.
