Jet Aviation has opened a new hangar and FBO complex at Palm Beach International Airport (IATA: PBI). The brand-new FBO terminal covers 11,270sq ft (1,047m²) and is adjacent to a 42,000sq ft (3,902m²) hangar and a 64,188sq ft (5,963m²) ramp.
Jet Aviation said the new facility is designed to accommodate the newer generation, large-body aircraft currently entering the market. The hangar door clearance is 30ft (9.14m²), and there is also approximately 10,000sq ft (929m²) of dedicated office and storage space.
The new FBO is situated alongside a new Gulfstream maintenance facility with which it shares over 9,000sq ft (836m²) of the passenger terminal on the 1st floor. The complex also shares 200,000sq ft (18,580m) of shared tarmac space.
David Best, Jet Aviation’s SVP regional operations, America, commented: “These facilities are designed and equipped to meet the business-aviation needs of our global customer base.
“The additional space and hangarage can accommodate both larger aircraft and increasing demand. We continue to grow our facilities to match our customer needs and are pleased to have strong interest in the new hangar.”
Jet Aviation president, David Paddock, added: “This investment is the fifth new hangar we’ve opened in recent years and underscores our commitment to exceeding customer expectations by further strengthening our global facility network. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent company, General Dynamics, for their ongoing support of our business, particularly during these uncertain times.”
Jet Aviation is also building a new FBO and hangar terminal in Scottsdale, Arizona, which is scheduled for completion in early 2021, while simultaneously working to replace its storm-damaged hangar in Houston, Texas.
