The five-year contract aims to provide an automated system for all upcoming construction projects
Geo-data specialist Fugro has been awarded a contract by the City of Dallas Department of Aviation to provide quality assurance testing services on all upcoming construction projects at Dallas Love Field, Dallas Executive and Dallas Vertiport.
Using a web-based management system for the coordination of activities, the testing aims to improve communication between Fugro and client stakeholders. The technology will also be used to reduce reporting turnaround times, keeping projects on schedule, and ensuring they stay within the set budget.
Implementation of the new scheme is expected to start at the beginning of next year, with work set for the city’s three airports. Rehabilitation of Dallas Love Field’s two runways is also expected to begin next year.
Chris Perry, external communications and marketing manager for the City of Dallas, said the contract was awarded to the firm because of its project management tools and experience: “[We were] impressed with Fugro’s automated reporting system and its lengthy history of providing the type of engineering services we needed for these projects.
“The big package was complex and far-reaching, but Fugro’s abilities met our needs,” he added.
The world’s leading geo-data specialist holds 40 years of regional experience. The company aims to provide engineering and testing capabilities to aid projects in a safe and sustainable way.
