The deal is set to enhance ground handling capacity with the possibility for further development around the country

The air services provider, dnata has joined forces with UNEX, a leading ground handling company to make its debut in the Indonesian market.

Initially, the launch will take place at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, however, advancements at other Indonesian bases could take place over the next few years.

The two corporations hope to improve ground handling capacity by jointly investing in the facilities, equipment, and training at the airport.

Budiman Tedja, president director of UNEX, believes the relationship will strengthen Indonesia’s position within the aviation industry: “We believe dnata’s global experience and network, combined with our local expertise, will reinforce Indonesia’s position as regional aviation hub, promote industry best practices, and provide world class services to all stakeholders including airlines, passengers, logistic providers, and Indonesian consumers.”

Both companies are pleased with the new strategic coalition as the opportunity for expansion increases.

Dirk Goovaerts, dnata’s regional CEO for Asia Pacific, has high hopes for the partnership: “dnata is globally known for our commitment to delivering the promises our customers make. We will work hard to ensure the highest standards of service and safety in Jakarta and, as we expand our operations, other airports in Indonesia.”

Flying is the most popular way to travel across the nation as it boasts more than 17,000 islands. With its current expanding tourism economy, it appears that the growth outlook for passenger services and the cargo logistics market is looking promising.
