OMNI Handling to open the new site with upgraded features including a golf simulator
A brand-new landside FBO has opened at Faro Airport in the Algarve.
The 150sqm FBO opened in time to welcome F1 teams back to Portugal’s Portimao after being away for 14 years.
Ricardo Pereira, CEO of OMNI Handling, feels the upgrade is a positive step for development: “Faro is where our activity has been growing most these past two years and it was only logical to invest here in a luxurious new FBO to the benefit of our trusted clients.”
Pereira also paid tribute to the Mood 4 Wood team who were able to successfully create the space despite working under COVID-19 restrictions.
It comprises a passenger lounge, crew rest area, a kitchen, an ensuite private bedroom, and an outdoor terrace.
OMNI selected artwork from MOVART gallery who are specialists in African contemporary art. The pieces are set to give the space an inspiring touch.
A virtual golf simulator has also been placed at the site, so passengers are able to play on world-renowned courses. When the simulator is not in use, the space converts into a movie theatre.
Jerome Franier, OMNI handling director, believe this feature will provide a good experience for those using the facilities: “Visitors play golf year-round here – what better attraction to offer this experience to our clients when visiting our FBO.”
