Cranfield Airport is a busy commercial and General Aviation (GA) airport situated between Bedford and Milton Keynes, and is the home base to many corporate and private aircraft owners.
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Air Traffic Control Assistant (ATCA) to join a busy team that performs a safety critical function in providing air traffic services to all airport and local airspace users. Tasks will include:
Assist the Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) in the performance of their duties
Assumes the role and responsibilities of Flight Planning Assistant
Assist the ATCO in alerting the emergency services in accordance with published procedures
Maintain data displays in accordance with published procedures
Accept booking out details from pilots and prepare flight progress strips in accordance with local procedures
Maintain and amend aeronautical documents and publications (as required)
Liaise with local agencies as required
Maintain a log of movements and record statistics as required
Carry out such other duties as directed by Manager Air Traffic Services or Senior Air Traffic Control Officer.
Undertake tasks associated with the ANSP Safety, Quality and Security Management systems as directed in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a flexible, resilient individual with well-developed communication skills who is able to cope with the pressures and demands of this safety critical role and who can adapt their approach to different customers you will come into contact with. It would be advantageous if you could further contribute to the team by holding a Met Observers Certificate.
